Tagore International School recognised
Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, was awarded with the ‘Best Projects Award’ at the Rotary Club’s International annual prize distribution ceremony. The school was bestowed with the same for its social service initiatives which include, Breaking Barriers, Acid Attack Survivors initiative, Kick-Start Equality campaign etc. Besides this, on the occasion of World Tobacco Day, the school team bagged the first prize in showcasing a street play to spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco. The event was organised by ‘I CAN’ foundation, held at DLF, Gurgaon. Known for its success in creating sensitivity among the public on many social issues through street plays, the students were also invited to perform before the honourable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, J.P. Nadda, members of the Public Health Foundation, and the WHO representative.
A long cherished dream of a new wing being added to the existing school building was realised for Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantt. Inaugurated by Sr. Anita Braganza, province leader for southeast Asia, the new infrastructure adds eight classrooms, a state-of-the-art computer laboratory and an open hall for conducting various events and activities at the existing premises. The newly constructed auditorium is currently being equipped with acoustics and other facilities. As the school completes its 175 years of presence in India, Sr. Anita congratulated principal, Sr. Mercia, staff and students and appreciated the efforts of all those who helped make this dream a reality.
Gyan Mandir Public School, Naraina, in collaboration with the Department of Environment, NCT, Delhi, organised the annual event ‘Abhivyakti-2016’. A plethora of competitions like street plays, poster making, herbal alchemy, sur tarang, ad – act and story designing etc., were conducted that helped the students in portraying their inherent talent and creativity. The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony, wherein the coveted rolling trophy was bagged by Cambridge Foundation School, Rajouri Garden.
Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar, students participated in the Model United Nations Conference organised by Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar. At the conference among the assorted committees, like the United Nations General Assembly -III(UNGA), United Nations Security Council, Reserve bank of India, the Constituent Assembly of India, Muammar Gadaffi’s Defence Attorney’s Collective, Convention on Nuclear safety and the Mossad, the team from Ryan International represented the committee of Republic of India. The conference culminated on a successful note where the team secured the all-over Best Delegation trophy.
