RS MP Chandra blames previous Haryana govts for farmers’ plight
KAITHAL: Businessman-turnedpolitician and independent Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra has held previous state governments in Haryana responsible for doing little to ward off unemployment issues and debt burden on farmers.
“Whenever I visit rural parts of Haryana, I see rising cases of unemployment and debt-ridden farmers. Our state governments have failed to deal with these problems,” Chandra said, while addressing his maiden public rally, organised by local leader Paras Mittal and other MLAs to felicitate him for his election to the Upper House.
Chandra said a textile industry is need of the hour for Jind region as it will not just help the farmers get remunerative prices for their produce but will also create jobs for the youths.
“I assure you that I will fight for your cause. In the next six years, Haryana’s GDP will double and we will generate 5 lakh jobs, besides providing basic amenities to the villages,” he added, without mentioning that whether he will join the BJP or not.
Several local MLAs including BJP’s Kurukshetra MLA Subhash Sudha, Independent MLA from Pundri Dinesh Kaushik, Independent MLA from Kalayat Jai Parkash and Independent MLA from Safidon Jasbir Deswa were also present.
All MLAs have extended their support to Chandra and said that they will continue to work for the development of the state.
