VIDARBHA READY TO REFORM
MUMBAI: Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) will perhaps be the first affiliated unit of the BCCI to follow the Supreme Court mandate.
The VCA, the home turf of ICC Chairman, is set to amend its constitution on September 30 as per the Lodha Committee’s recommendations during a Special General Meeting.
The Lodha Committee had set September 30 as the timeline for the BCCI and its affiliated units to prepare new rules and regulations. The BCCI has called for a Special General Meeting in Mumbai to discuss the Lodha Committee’s recommendations.

It is learnt that the VCA has already notified those members and office-bearers, who have completed nine years into cricket administration, to refrain from contesting. VCA president Prakash Dixit confirmed to Hindustan Times about the calling a Special General Meeting.
“Yes, we have called an SGM. It is the members who will pass the amendments to the constitution. I am no one to make this big change,” Dixit said.

IOA TO CONSIDER GIVING AFFILIATION TO NEW BODY NEW DELHI: Conspicuous by its absence in the elections to constitute the Boxing Federation of India despite being requested to send an observer, the IOA on Monday said it will consider giving affiliation to the newly-formed body following the “good” conduct of polls.
“The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (which was terminated in 2012) is still a member of the IOA. We will take a call in the next one month or so,” IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta said. PTI
