Nip in morning air, smog clears, expect clear sky, shallow fog today
DELHI WOKE UP TO SMOGGY MORNING ON MONDAY, WHEN THE VISIBILITY WAS RECORDED AT 200M IN SAFDARJUNG AND 400M IN PALAM
NEW DELHI:There was a nip in the air in the morning as the minimum temperature settled at 14.2°C.
The smoggy cloud that had engulfed the national capital on Monday dissipated by Tuesday evening.
Visibility levels were 500m at 8.30am in the morning at both Safdarjung and Palam, and increased to over 1,000m by the evening.
The maximum temperature was docked at 30.6°C. The maximum level of humidity was recorded at 98% and the minimum was 34%.
Delhi residents can expect clear skies with moderate to shallow fog on Wednesday, according to the Regional Weather Forecast Centre.
Major differences in temperature is not expected, with the maximum predicted temperature at 31°C and the minimum at 14°C.
Delhi residents had woken up to smoggy morning on Monday, a day after Diwali, when the visibility was recorded at 200m in Safdarjung and 400m in Palam.
When visibility falls below a 1,000m and the relative humidity level is above 75%, it is classified as fog. And if there is smoke and particulate material in the air to boot, it then becomes smog, according to weather expert.
