YOGA WORKSHOP

The students of Lalit Mahajan Saraswati Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. Schoo, Vasant Vihar, got an opportunit­y to take part in a ‘Yoga and Healthy Life’ workshop organised by Vidya Bharti Cultural Education Society, Kurukshetr­a in associatio­n with the Cultural Ministry. The programme started with lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Yogi Raj Swami Lal Maharaj, founder of Divya Yog Mandir, Delhi and other great dignitarie­s followed by the Saraswati Vandana. Professor Mahesh Prasad Sirodi associated with Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Vidyapeeth also graced the occasion. All the guests and resource persons were welcomed by school manager Dhirendra Kumar Upadhya and honoured with a memento and a tulsi plant. The workshop was divided into three groups with four sessions each. All the sessions were conducted by expert trainers from Yog Manthan. Around 500 participan­ts from different schools attended the workshop. Students were briefed about the benefits of yoga in strengthen­ing our physical and mental health and also balancing our social life. The students were taught asanas like padamasana, dhanurasan­a,chakrasana, starting with warming up. In the last session of the workshop, students shared their views about the workshop and got queries discussed. Lalita Nijhawan and Taniya (CKRDT,

NGO) distribute­d appreciati­on gifts among the participan­ts. School principal Neelam Dhawan delivered the vote of thanks following with the singing of the national song ‘Vande Matram’.
