GREATER NOIDA: In a breakthrough in incidents of interstate human trafficking, Police recovered three minor girls on Wednesday who were abducted a week ago and nabbed five persons involved in the racket.

Three sisters were abducted from a village in Surajpur area of Greater Noida on January 19, following which a First Information Report (FIR) was filed in Surajpur Police station.

The girls were finally recovered by the police, who claim that they were abducted by a gang with the purpose of human trafficking. They also seized a Scorpio and an Innova car that were used in the abduction and trafficking.

“A police team was formed to investigate the matter and on an informer’s lead, we were able to recover the three girls safely. The girls were recovered from a professional gang of human traffickers which used to sell the victims to parties in NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan and other states for either marriage purpose or to elderly men for their sexual needs. The victims had been kept in Greater Noida and their buyers were sought by the culprits,” said Sujata Singh, superintendent of Police (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar.

The police arrested Arvind Shah alias ‘Babli’, Yogesh, Manoj alias ‘Sanoj’, Ganesh alias ‘Kallu’ and Kamlesh alias ‘Kallo’ for the alleged abduction of the minor girls.

While Arvind and Kamlesh are married and they hail from Bulandshahr, Manoj is a native of Mahendragarh in Haryana and Ganesh is from Alwar, Rajasthan. Yogesh, who is Kamlesh’ brother, also hails from Bulandshahr.

According to the police, the gang has been involved in numerous incidents of human trafficking and their modus operandi was to adopt minor girls in the name of providing them education by influencing their poor, gullible parents.

“Arvind is the kingpin of this gang and Kamlesh is married to him and Yogesh is her brother. They used to operate as a gang and their modus operandi was to live in a rented place as a respectable family and influence gullible, poor parents to send their daughters to them for free education. Once they were in full control of the minor girls, they used to sell them to parties across NCR and other states for big amount. Other members of this gang used to act as interstate couriers. After the sale, they used to change their location,” said Singh.

Singh also revealed that the gang used to provide sleeping pills to the minor girls and asked them to feed them to the family where they were sold, whenever they wanted to run away from them. “The girls were given pills and asked to mix it in the water that was used for drinking purpose by the family where they were sold, when they wanted to run away,” he said.
