NEWDELHI:Two Taekwondo players from Jharkhand on Friday filed a case with the Delhi Police and accused their coach of allegedly drugging and raping them five years ago at Dhanbad in Jharkhand.

A zero FIR in this regard was registered at Kamla Market police station on Wednesday in central Delhi. Delhi Police officials are in the process of transferring the FIR to the concerned police station in Dhanbad.

Deputy commissioner of police (central) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said they received the complaint from the players on Wednesday. “Based on the statement of the players, a zero FIR has been registered. This will now be transferred to the police of Dhanbad in Jharkhand, which will take up the probe,” said Randhawa. The complainants were minors when they were allegedly drugged and raped.

“The girls alleged that the coach spiked their drink and when they became unconscious, he raped them. He allegedly also made a video recording of the whole incident,” the officer said.

Police said that the players have alleged that they were blackmailed into silence by the coach. He allegedly threatened to upload the video on the Internet if they complained to anyone. The players came to Delhi last week to stay at a relative’s place for a while. They narrated the whole ordeal to a relative who took them to the police station.

One of the former officer bearers of the Teakwondo Federation of India said that similar allegations against the same coach were made in the past also.
