RAHUL, HIS FRIENDS AND THE THREE ACCUSED MEN WERE CONSUMING ALCOHOL IN KANJHAWALA IN OUTER DELHI WHEN A QUARREL TOOK PLACE

men have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Delhi court for murdering a man following a quarrel in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala.

The convicts are Nitin (25), Kapil (26) and Rakesh (33). The court imposed a fine of R 1 lakh each on the three convicts and said ₹3 lakh be given as compensation to the victim Rahul’s family.

“Keeping in view the facts of the case that they murdered Rahul, all the convicts are sentenced to life imprisonment for the offence punishable under section 302 (murder)/ 34 (common intention) of the IPC,” the court said.

The court rejected the prosecution’s submission that the convicts be awarded death penalty, saying the case does not fall under the category of the rarest of rare.

According to the prosecution, victim Rahul, his friends and the three accused men were consuming alcohol in an office in Kanjhawala in outer Delhi when a quarrel took place between Rahul and Kapil on some issues.

The victim along with the three accused went to buy more liquor but did not return.

The victim’s friends searched for him and found him lying near a cremation ground.

He was having bullet injuries and was later declared brought dead in a local hospital.

During the trial, the accused had claimed innocence and said they were falsely implicated in the case.
