NCP MP & Shivaji kin booked for extortion, assault
The Satara police in Maharashtra booked on Thursday Nationalist Congress Party MP and Chhatrapati Shivaji’s descendant Udayanraje Bhosale for alleged extortion and beating up a company official.
The police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Bhosale and nine others after a manager at Sona Allies alleged that the MP manhandled him and demanded extortion.
The police arrested nine people but not Bhosale.
According to the FIR, Bhosale, who led the workers union at Sona Allies in Lonand near Satara beat up Rajkumar Jain and took away valuables on March 18.
Bhosale accused the company management of favouring another workers union led by Ramraje Nimablkar, another NCP leader and his bête noire.
Jain, who filed the complaint, accused Bhosale of thrashing him for not paying him the extortion amount.
Bhosale could not be contacted despite several attempts by Hindustan Times.
