Kejriwal warns against vote split
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged the people “not to waste their vote on the Congress” as the party was “finished” in the national capital. This will prevent division of votes in the April 23 municipal elections, which could give the Bharatiya Janata Party an edge, he said.
While releasing the Aam Aadmi Party’s manifesto for the April 23 municipal polls, Kejriwal said he had information that even Delhi Congress chief could join the BJP. “Big Congress leaders are joining the BJP. I came to know that even Ajay Maken is in touch with Amit Shah and he may also join the BJP after the municipal polls,” the AAP leader said.
While former Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh and Delhi Youth Congress president Amit Malik joined the BJP on Tuesday, some other Congress members also joined the party on Wednesday.
With the Congress is making all out efforts to make a comeback into the city politics, Kejriwal advised the voters in the Walled City on Tuesday to ensure that votes are not split and hundred percent support for AAP.
Ever since Lovely joined the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party is hardselling the argument that the Congress has weakened and it won’t help voting for them.
“I want to warn all of you. Vote ko batne mat dena...aap mera ishara samajh gaye honge. (Ensure votes are not split. Hope you understand what I mean). A situation shouldn’t arrive that two votes go to BJP…two to the Congress. Ensure that 100% votes come to AAP,” Kejriwal said at a meeting near Jama Masjid in Chandni Chowk on Tuesday.
