Developers had submitted their building maps in 201516 and the authority had raised objections in those maps. They never gave us clarifications.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority on Wednesday said that it has cancelled building plans (maps) of 17 group housing projects belonging to Jaypee Infratech, Gaursons, Orris Group, VGA Developers and Ajnara Group.

Out of the 17 group housing projects, 12 belong to Jaypee Infratech, two are of Gaursons and one each is owned by Ajnara, Orris Group, VGA Developers. The 12 Jaypee projects are located in Sector 19, 25 and 22B along the Yamuna Expressway.

The move is likely to affect hundreds of homebuyers, who have already made investments in these housing projects.

On April 15, the Yamuna expressway authority had also cancelled five housing projects of Jaypee Infratech in Sports City East since the developer allegedly sold the projects without getting building plans approved.

“We have cancelled building maps of 12 more housing projects that belong to Jaypee Infratech, Gaursons, Orris Group, VGA Developers and Ajnara because they did not get their maps approved within a specific time. The builders have also sold flats to homebuyers without getting requisite approvals,” said Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.

The two projects of Gaursons are located in Sector 19 and along Yamuna expressway.

VGA Developers has 20,071 square metre land in Sector 25, Orris Group has 8,19,105 square metre land in Sector 22D and Ajnara has 85,391 square metre land in Sector 22A.

“The developers had submitted their building maps in 2015-16 and the authority had raised objections in those maps. The developers never gave us clarifications on those objections. Instead, they started selling their flats. I have issued notices to each developer asking them to submit details of flats sold and money that has been collected from investors. Without clearing objections the developers are not allowed to sell their flats,” said the CEO.

Gaursons MD Manoj Gaur said, “Our maps were sanctioned in July 27, 2016 and we have carried out construction as per that map only. The Yamuna authority had on September 15, 2016, raised objections to the maps. These objections could not be resolved because of holidays in the authority office. We will get the objections resolved soon. Our construction on a 25-storey tower is underway.”

Jaypee Group, Ajnara Group, Orris Group and VGA Developers were unavailable for comments.
