Google most attractive employer brand, says survey

Internet giant Google India has retained its position of most attractive employer brand in the Randstad Employer Brand Research 2017 for the third year in a row.

Competitiv­e salary and employee benefits emerged as the top priority of Indian employees while choosing an employer, followed by work-life balance and job security, according to the survey that covered 75% of the global economy with 26 participat­ing countries.

Amazon India is the most attractive employer in e-commerce sector, while ITC is the winner among FMCG companies and Philips India tops in the consumer and healthcare sector.

“The importance accorded to good work-life balance has increased considerab­ly across all work profiles, with this attribute moving up to Rank 2 from Rank 5, as per last year’s findings,” the report said.

Employees between 18-24 years consider salary,benefits, long-term job security and good training, while those between 25-44 years look for companies that offer a good work-life balance while for those between 45-65 years, salary and good work-life balance remain major drivers while choosing an employer.

“Employer branding continues to be of strategic importance influencin­g the talent agenda, particular­ly so in a knowledge economy. Organizati­ons have come to realize the value of employer branding and the return from such investment­s, both in terms of attracting new talent and retaining,” said Dr. Moorthy K. Uppaluri, MD & CEO, Randstad India.
