Victim, husband fled from home at Bas Kusla village after ‘tiff’ with neighbours

Manesar gang rape victim had left her home on May 29 night after the couple allegedly had a tiff with their neighbours at Bas Kusla village in Manesar, 25 kms from Gurgaon.

Locals said the couple had left their home, where they live on rent, separately when their neighbours, Birvan and Rani, had gone to the police station to complain after Rani was seriously injured after their fight. Eyewitness­es said first the victim’s husband left home and later the victim left the room with the child at around 12am.

“The woman and her husband had a quarrel with us over a trivial issue but they injured me seriously and we went to the police. The two were scared and the husband left the home first and later his wife left with the child. What happened thereafter is not known to us,” said Rani.

Locals also said that during the fight the couple’s eightmonth-old daughter had fallen down the stairs and got injured.

The couple had a love marriage. The victim belongs to Meerut in Uttar Pradesh and her husband is a native of Muzzaffarp­ur in Bihar.

The woman had left her house to go to her in-laws’ house in Khandsa, Gurgaon. The three accused had given a lift to the victim and her daughter in their four-wheeler Tata Magic vehicle and instead of dropping her to Khandsa, they took turns to rape her at a vacant plot in Manesar.

Yogender, one of the accused who was arrested after he confessed to his crime the sarpanch of Bas Kusla village, said that they had taken the woman to Khandsa village, and even tried to locate the house of her in-laws. However, after failing to find the house, they returned to Manesar, where they committed the crime.

However, the victim had said in her complaint that the accused had taken a u-turn from Kherki Daula toll plaza and raped her at sector 8 in Manesar.

The woman and her husband had a quarrel with us over a trivial issue but they injured me seriously and we went to the police. They were scared. The victim’s husband left the home first and later she also left.
