BSc electronic­s tops cutoff list at 99.6 at SGTB Khalsa

release of the first cutoff list in Delhi University colleges threw up some surprises. Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College topped the charts of science courses, with a cutoff of 99.66 percent for their BSc (Hons) Electronic­s course, which has increased from last year’s 99%.

Overall, many science courses saw a dip in cutoffs, while others remained the same as last year in most colleges. Only a few science courses witnessed an increase in cutoffs this year.

Lady Irwin’s BSc (Hons) Home Science has the lowest cutoff of 83% this year. This is two percentage points lower than last year’s cutoff of 85%.

BSc (Hons) Maths was the most popular science course, with 74,856 applicants opting for the programme. SGTB Khalsa has the highest cutoff for this programme at 97.5%. This is lower than last year’s cutoff requiremen­t of 98%.

Physics honours programmes in colleges such as Hans Raj, Ramjas and Kirori Mal, among others, have seen a dip in cutoffs for the first time since 2010.

At Hans Raj, the cutoff for Physics dropped from 97% last year to 96.66% this year. At Ramjas, it dropped by one percentage point to 96.66% this year. Kirori Mal College on the other hand witnessed a dip of two percentage points and has a cutoff of 96%.

At Ramjas College, science subjects saw a dip in cutoff with Chemistry (hons) at 96%, going down by 2 percentage points from last year’s 98%, acting principal of the college PC Tulsian said.
