Online registrations for UG courses close
The online registration for entrance-based undergraduate programmes at the Delhi University closed on Sunday, with 38,738 completed applications being received by the university.
DU admits students to nine of its undergraduate programmes, including BA (Hon) in Music, BA (Hon) in Multimedia and Mass Communication, BTech in Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation, and BMS/ BBE/BBA, based on entrance exams. The registration process for these entrance-based undergraduate programmes had been delayed this year, leaving many students anxious.
During the Open Days event at DU, officials had said that the online forms for these courses would be available from May 31. However, the registration process did not start until June 16.
The online registrations closed at 11.59 pm on Sunday.
The highest number of applications have been received for Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE), Bachelor of Business Administration—Financial Investment and Analysis (BBAFIA) programmes, which have jointly received 15,839 applications.
This is followed closely by the Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) programme, with 8,583 applications and BTech in Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation, with 5,166 applications.
The entrance tests for these programmes will be computerbased and online, and will be held in 18 cities across India. The test for Music (Hon) course will be practical and will be held on July 4 and 5. The entrance to the other programmes will be held on July 2 and July 9.
