and Ruchi Sehgal. The first session was on standardised testing of English and CEFR (Common European Framework by reference). It was a detailed description of learner level by skill in a language-neutral format. The CEFR helped the trainees to understand the different levels of language proficiency. It also showcases how the learners progress through the levels. This information equipped teachers to get a better idea of how to break down the learning for each CEFR level into different classes within their schools.
The training module also incorporated the teaching of various language functions, pronunciation, phonetics, classroom management during speaking and listening activities. The workshop was an elevating and enlightening experience that acquainted the teachers with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), gave practice of CLT activities and helped gain a practical understanding, practise examining and grading of Birla Vidya Niketan launched a cultural exchange programme with Institue Gestalt in Murelia, Mexico.The meeting began with students from both the countries creating profiles and enlisting interests, specialties and location, followed by a cultural exchange. Two video conferencing sessions took place in May, the first of which was about Indian and Mexican Dishes. It was also the subject of a quiz contest. The next session, Customs and Traditions of India, included dances by participants from both sides, dressed in traditional costumes, presented dances.
