GHASTLY ACT Guard at underconstruction building murdered the boy because he threatened to tell his parents

police dog led investigators to a man who allegedly kidnapped a child, sodomised him and murdered him last month. Investigation revealed the man was also arrested in 2009 in a kidnap-murder case.

On August 12, a tea seller informed the cops about his sixyear-old son who went missing from near his shop in east Delhi’s Harsh Vihar, police said .

The child had gone missing while returning home from the shop.

The man searched for his son but could not find him anywhere and later informed the police. The child’s body was later found at a nursery near Harsh Vihar market.

AK Singla, DCP north east, said several teams worked on the case. One of the teams took a sniffer dog. The dog named Vinesh after inspecting the crime spot led the police to a nearby under-construction building.

Police suspect the murderer lived close by or had links to someone in the building. Investigating officers learnt that the building’s guard was missing for the past couple of days.

Police learnt that the guard named Ram Niwas was from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. A police team reached his house in Bareilly but he could not be found.

“Later we found that Ram Niwas was previously involved in a similar kidnapping-cummurder case in Welcome area in 2009. Sensing the gravity of case, informers were deployed and on Friday,we received information about Ram Niwas’s location near Shamshan Ghat, Mandoli,” said Singla.

A police team reached the spot and arrested Niwas, who admitted that he was involved in a kidnapping and murder case in 2009 when he had come to Delhi in search of work.

Working at a tent house in northeast Delhi, he said he had a tiff with his owner over money. He later kidnapped his owner’s son, took the child to Bareilly and killed him. Police had arrested him and he was behind bars till 2012.

Admitting his role in the recent kidnapping case, Niwas told police that he had kidnapped the tea-seller’s son from outside his house and sodomised him.

“A contractor at the underconstruction building had asked him to guard it. He had become friends with a local tea-seller. On August 11 there was no construction for two days. He drank with the tea-seller and around 6.30 pm, he saw the minor child. He kidnapped the child and sodomised him at the site,” said a senior police officer.

Niwas told police he strangulated him the child when he boy threatened to tell his parents about it.

He disposed of the dead body in a nearby nursery and fled.
