Riveting sessions that turned teachers into students

NEW DELHI: Laying emphasis upon the fact that successful teachers always explore new and exciting strategies that keep students motivated and committed, HT-PACE (Partnerships for Action in Education) recently organised teaching workshops at Ryan International School, Sector 40, Gurugram; Khrist Raja Secondary School, Bangla Sahib Marg; Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurugram; and Heritage Academy, Modinagar, Ghaziabad.
Those workshops were conducted by Sabrish Kumar, corporate trainer and life coach; Animesh Kapoor, environmentalist and motivational speaker; and Lucky Pucchrat, professional speaker. During the sessions, all of them laid emphasis on the importance of classroom management with the objective of grooming the teachers with strategies.
The trainers explained techniques which develop a bond among students and keep them motivated throughout the day. They (trainers) also highlighted the importance of understanding the values that every child is born with.

The trainers were of the opinion that for the most part learning takes place in many different circumstances and contexts. They believed that although everyone is capable of learning, a student’s desire to learn is vital to mastering new concepts, principles and skills.
Another teacher, Pooja Sachdev of the same school, also appreciated the workshop. “After this session, we would be able to connect to the children in a better way,” she added.
In addition, the trainers also stressed that students should always be appreciated for good work as it brings a positive change and increases their level of interest. They advised teachers to adopt a systematic approach that will help students in several ways.
“The workshop was very interesting and innovative. It would definitely help us build a better connect with the students. Now, we all will be able to understand the learning style of the students,” said another Ryan teacher Rashmi Kapoor.
During those workshops, the speakers also gave teachers various tips, teaching strategies and ways to manage children with special care and to help develop their learning curiosity on various topics and hands-on activities.
The concept of sender and receiver was one of such activities. Through that activity, the teachers understood why, at times, children do not understand cer-certain concepts explained in classrooms. ms. The teachers thoroughly enjoyed those ose sessions.
“The workshop really benefited the teachers in delivering environment nt education for sustainable eco-system,” ” said Mayuri Abrol, a teacher of Ryan International School, Sohna Road, Gurugram. Purva Chpra, another teacher of the same school, thanked HT-PACE for the initiative.
Lauding the efforts of the organisers, Peeya Sharma, the head of Ryan International School, Sector 40, Gurugram, said “I am thankful to Sabrish Kumar for such an enlightening workshop that motivated the teachers to connect with students. It will also help us identify their (students’) values and talents.”
Hailing the initiative, Heritage Academy principal Kavita Khare, said, “The workshop was very motivating and engaging. It focused on attitude development among teachers which is in great demand.”
