Samsung, Apple remain market leaders: IDC report

NEW DELHI: Samsung shipped 83.3 million smartphones in Q3 (July-september), a 9.5% rise from last year when it shipped 76.1 million units and held 20.9% of the market. It now controls 22.3% of the global market share, which is more than last year’s 20.9%. With 12.5% market share, Apple remained at number two. It shipped 46.7 million units in Q3 2017, a 2.6% rise from 45.5 million units shipped a year ago.
