CHECK VIOLATING VEHICLES: HC

NEWDELHI: The Delhi high court on Monday asked the traffic police and the Delhi transport department to check if vehicles on Delhi’s roads were complying with pollution norms, saying there was rampant violation of rules. “There has to be some checking. Rules are being violated rampantly,” a bench of acting chief justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said and asked the authorities why regular checks were not being carried out .

The Delhi government’s lawyer told HC that there were “enforcement issues”.
