ROHTAK : The family of the sixyear-old girl who was brutally raped and murdered in Hisar have demanded strict punishment for those involved in this heinous crime.

“Their hands and legs should be chopped off in full public view to shame them for what they have done. If they get away this time, they will do it again and again and make more girls their victim,” said an uncle of the six-year-old.

The family said their girl did not go to school and used to stay at home with her mother. “She (mother) is in trauma. Her blood pressure has gone down and the doctor has been checking her. We are demanding justice,” the father of the victim said.

The Dalit family belonged to Tohana in Fatehabad and had come to Hisar in search of work. They were living in a tented accommodation on a plot in Uklana, where the victim’s father worked as a ragpicker.

The victim had three siblings, an elder brother and sister, and a younger brother, all of who did not attend any school. “The government has now said that they will send the children to school and give them a pucca house,” a relative said.

The police have failed to make any headway in the case. The special investigation team (SIT) has announced a reward of ₹2 lakh on information that would lead to the arrest of the culprits. LUCKNOW: Two of the men accused in the rape of a cancer patient in the state capital have been arrested, an official said Monday.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) to the DGP, Rahul Srivastava told a news agency that while 18-year-old Shubham Yadav was absconding, the other two — Virendra Yadav, 45, and Sumit, 20 — were arrested late on Sunday night.

The 14-year-old girl, suffering from blood cancer, was gang-raped by two youngsters on the weekend. When the girl regained consciousness she sought the help of a passer by (Virendra). He also raped her.

In yet another incident, police found a woman’s chopped body parts eaten by stray dogs, near Purana Sugarmill area on the outskirts of Rohtak on Monday. The body parts below the knees and above the waist were missing. The police said preliminary investigation did not rule out sexual assault before murder. The body has been sent for post-mortem at PGIMS.
