Inter-school debate at DPS Mathura Road
Delhi Public School, Mathura Road
organized the 43 InterSchool Amala Chatterjee English Memorial Debate for Class VIII. The debate commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Manohar Lal, Vice Principals, Deeksha Khera and Asha Tuli, Academic Coordinator, Reema Sharma, Headmistress Junior School, Anju Sharma and Senior Mistress, Renu Puri and the distinguished guests. The Principal welcomed the guests and paid tribute to Amala Chatterjee, a former student of DPS Mathura Road. The judges for the debate were Dr. Mayank Kumar, Professor, Satyawati College and Sanjay Kaw, media professional. Adhiraj Chaddha, DPS Vasant Kunj was adjudged the best speaker, Pranavi Poddar of DPS Mathura Road bagged second position and Shaurya Baijal of DPS Mathura Road and Manya Sarin of DPS R.K. Puram got the third position. DPS ,Mathura Road was adjudged the best team and received the Rolling Trophy, while the best interjector for the day was Amna Abdin of DPS Mathura Road.

celebrated Annual Day at Talkatora Indoor Stadium with Arjun Ram Meghwal , Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Develop- ment and Ganga Rejuvenation as Chief Guest, K.C. Jain, former Principal Commissioner of Income Tax as Guest of Honour ANDSMJEW Societychairman K. L. Jain. The highlights of the programme were Yoga, Namami Gange, a short film on the cleansing of the Ganga, release of school journal Sumeru, cultural bonanza on “Books Enlighten Us” and dance-drama production on “Man’s Quest for Real Treasure”. Designed by the school advisor Sonali Jain, the programme also included felicitation of distinguished guests and meritorious students.

Annual Day ‘Nischay’. Justice G.S. Sistani , chief guest , chairman, Surjit Singh and Vice Chairperson, Rasna Singh graced the occasion . Principal, George Mathew, welcomed the guests and presented the School Annual Report .The students performed play based on the famous story ‘Heidi’, conveying the message “Believe in yourself”. The hindi play, ‘Waqt –e-andhera, Umeede-roshni’, emphasized the importance of human relations and ethics in the technological world. The dance drama “Tulsidas” was the highlight of the event. The chief- guest applauded the efforts of the school and felicitated the meritorious students. The programme ended with vote of thanks by the School Headmis- tress, Dr. Renuka Kamal.
“Cyber Congress Cell” organized a “Cyber Safety Awareness Week” to ensure the safety of children in the virtual world. The week started with a “Cyber Tyger– The Super Hero Rally ”. Several other activities like balanced cyber citizen , Poster making, emoticons greeting, cybernetic rhapsodist and a conference to raise aware-

ness about the new challenges and opportunities in fighting online threats were conducted. The Principal Rashmi Raj Biswal launched the Cyber Safety School Policy. The students exhibited a play highlighting the negative impact of Internet on children. A workshop on “Vulnerabilities of Cyber Space- Realization and Prevention” was conducted by school’s alumni Aditya Arora.
