DELHI BJP WORKERS, LED BY MANOJ TIWARI, ON TUESDAY STAGED A PROTEST AT CHIEF MINISTER ARVIND KEJRIWAL’S RESIDENCE

NEW DELHI: A group of Delhi BJP workers led by the city unit president, manoj Tiwari held a protest at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence against what they called a “violent assault on the chief secretary by the lawmakers”, pushing Delhi in an administrative crisis.

The agitators assembled near Chandagi Ram Akhada before proceeding towards CM residence on Flag Staff Road, which was sanitised by police barricades. Police dispersed the crowd using water cannon and detained a few protesters.

“The assault on the chief secretary is a repeat of the violent assault faced by the BJP delegation, which went to meet the chief minister on January 30,” Tiwari said.

“The violence unleashed on the Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash by Aam Aadmi Party MLAS exposes the anarchic behaviour of the party ruling Delhi. Earlier, the party had similarly attacked opposition MLAS in the Assembly and Delhi government officials. Many government officials have filed complaints of similar misbehaviour,” he said.

Leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta accused Arvind Kejriwal of “stage managing the assault”.

“This is blot on Indian democracy and should be fully condemned. The chief minister, according to a plan, calls the chief secretary at 12 in the night and along with one dozen MLAS assaults him, abuses him because the chief secretary had objected to the advertisements by the chief minister,” he said.
