Lucknow to roll out red carpet for investors summit
LUCKNOW: Lucknow is all set to roll out the red carpet for the UP Investors Summit, 2018, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday and Thursday.
The state capital has been decorated for the summit with around 6,000 streetlight poles being painted and decorated with silver colour LED light strings. The stretch from the airport to the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the venue for the summit, has been decked up with flower pots.
“Officials have worked hard for the event and LMC [ Lucknow Municipal Corporation]wants to paint the best picture of the city before guests,” municipal commissioner Udairaj Singh said.
With over 5,000 delegates scheduled to arrive in the state capital for the summit, the Lucknow airport is geared up to accommodate more than usual air traffic.
“Currently, around 140 flights operate from this airport on a daily basis. But on February 21 and 22, the airport will have more traffic than usual. Around 60 private jets and 42 helicopters are expected to land here on Wednesday. The airport has made special arrangements to welcome the delegates,” said DK Sharma, director, Chaudhary Charan Singh airport, Lucknow.
According to airport officials, the Lucknow airport can accommodate 14 mid-size and around 44 small aircraft at the same time.
A fleet of around 275 luxury cars like Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, would be available on call at the airport.
