Search at CM’S house is violation of law, says AAP

-

NEW DELHI: The AAP on Friday termed the police search at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence an attempt to ‘humiliate’ the chief minister at the behest of the Centre and said they would hit the streets on Saturday in protest.

The party alleged that the police reached the chief minister’s residence without any prior intimation in violation of law.

“How can we expect justice when Delhi Police is behaving like some murder has taken place at the CM’S house. A posse of 50-60 policemen visited the CM’S house just to seize CCTV footages,” senior AAP leader Ashutosh said.

“Some of them searched the lawns, while others went up to the terrace. I don’t believe that they had come just for CCTV footage,” Ashutosh said while sharing a video of policemen at CM’S residence at Flag Staff road

The party also alleged that police’s visit was in violation of law. “Entry into the CM’S house is a violation of law Under Section 165 Crpc, as no intimation was given. Instead police produced a letter written to the officer on special duty after entering the house. There is no OSD position in CM’S house,” said BS Joon, AAP’S lawyer.

“What ever happened at CM house can happen with anyone. We will hold protests at all district/state headquarters to expose the ‘dictatorship’ and ‘hooliganism’ of Narendra Modi government on Saturday,” said Sanjay Singh, AAP’S Rajya Sabha MP.
