SSC paper leak: HC issues notices to Centre, CBI and selection panel
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High court on Thursday sought the response of the Centre, CBI, Delhi Police and the Staff Selection commission (SSC) on a plea by a group of students seeking reinvestigation by the CBI or NIA or a judicial probe in the SSC paper leak scam.
Justice S P Garg issued notices to the respondents after 44 aspiring students moved the court seeking the appointment of an enquiry commission headed by a retired Supreme Court or High Court Judge in the scam.
The plea filed by the students said that multiple FIRS have been registered every year on the leaking of the question papers and arrests of the persons aiding the aspirants to cheat for a consideration of huge amount of money.
The petition claimed that the none of the investigating agencies have been able to bust the racket and arrest the main syndicate involved in this organised crime due to which the offences taken place every rears robbing the honest aspirants of their fundamental rights.
Appearing for the students, senior advocate Vikas Pahwa contended that it is imperative that a comprehensive investigation is carried out to unearth the source of the crime.
The plea claimed that the syndicate of paper leak is operating successfully because officials of the SSC have been involved in the crime.
“The modus operandi of the syndicate is supported by ultramodern technologies and the commission of the crime gets defected at very few places as the local police agencies are not well equipped technologically,” the plea alleged.
The petition also sought that cases in which chargesheet has not been filed be transferred to the CBI or NIA.
