IT OFFICIALS SAID SINGH GAVE HIS KIDS FROM BOTH WIVES THE SAME NAMES SO THAT HE COULD CARRY OUT TRANSACTIONS IN

THEIR NAMES

NOIDA: An Income Tax raid against an engineer in the Noida Authority on Friday revealed five cars including a Jaguar, at least 25 properties across various sectors, ₹8 lakh in cash, and two families.

Documents accessed by the sleuths showed that assistant project engineer (APE) Chaudhary Brijpal Singh, 59, had two wives — one in Noida and the other in Ghaziabad — and two boys and a girl with each of them. Both his sets of children had the same names.

IT officials said that the children had been given the same names so that Singh could carry out property transactions in their names without any problems. All six of his children are adults. HT is not revealing their names because they could not be contacted for comment.

“During the investigation, we found that Singh owns 25 properties registered in the names of his family members. He was shocked when we found out about his two wives and children. He kept the same names for his children from both wives to make the property buying and selling procedure suspicion free,” said Amrinder Kumar, principal director of the IT department’s investigation wing.

Singh lived with his legally wedded wife, two sons and a daughter in Noida’s Sector 27.
