Gurugram:

A day after the attack on a human resources (HR) manager of Mitsuba Sical India Private Limited on Thursday, senior officials of companies located in the area raised security concerns.

Senior executives of the company on Friday visited the 49-year-old HR manager, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, at a Manesar hospital, where his condition is said to be out of danger.

It is suspected that he was shot by a former trainee, who had been sacked for indiscipline. The company’s senior officials said that after the incident, they are concerned about their safety. They plan to approach the Japanese association, the Japan Embassy and the authorities in their country, said Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Dinesh’s brother.

“The Indian government is demanding foreign investment but the security provided by them is so weak that no foreign country would like to invest and put lives of their people in danger. First, they should resolve the safety concerns,” Sharma said.

The two suspects were taken on a three-day police remand after being produced at the district court on Friday.

Gurugam police officers will meet Japanese industry representatives on Saturday. The deputy commissioner of police and the assistant commissioner of police will be taking up an industrial outreach program, according to Sandeep Khirwar, the commissioner of police.

More than 150 HR officials of private automobile companies met on Friday. “We wrote to the Gurgaon Industrial Association to ensure the safety of people working in the belt and to take action against those involved in such acts,” an HR manager of an automobile company said.
