New metro corridor to Bahadurgar­h opens this Sunday

NEW DELHI: Commute between Mundka and Bahadurgar­h will become an easy feat for commuters as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporatio­n (DMRC) is set to throw open the section for public from Sunday.

The DMRC on Friday said services will on the 11.8-km extension of the Green Line (Inderlok/ Kirti Nagar to Mundka) be start from 4pm on Sunday.

“Commercial services are likely to commence on the Mundka-badadurgar­h metro corridor from 4pm on Sunday,” a DMRC spokespers­on said.

Sources from the Metro said it is likely that the section will be inaugurate­d by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his office via video call, while Union Urban Developmen­t Minister Hardeep Puri and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will participat­e in the inaugural ceremony in the Haryana part of the section.

The corridor will have seven elevated stations in total, of which four will be in Delhi and three in Haryana.

These will be Mundka industrial Area, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan, Tikri Border (Delhi) and Modern Industrial Estate, Bus Stand, and City Park (Haryana).

After the completion of this corridor, the entire Inderlok-bahadurgar­h section will become 26.33 km long.
