Police arrest three, bust gang of illegal arms supplier

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested three men and have busted a gang that indulged in illegal arms supply to Delhi-ncr and was wanted in three states for murders, attempts to murder, assault on police and robberies.
Police said jewellery worth ₹ 3 lakh was recovered from them, police said.
The three men were identified as Ishwar Singh, Romi Singh — residents of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh — and Vipin Jain. Senior police officer said, investigations revealed that Ishwar, the kingpin of the gang, was wanted for eight criminal cases across Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The deputy commissioner of police (west), Vijay Kumar said that on June 17, a Kirti Nagar police station received information about two men who were try- ing to escape after a daylight burglary in Mansarovar Garden. “When a police team reached on the spot, the complainant told them that around 6 pm he saw two turban-clad men fleeing with his car’s battery and started chasing them. Meanwhile, a Delhi Police constable, who was deployed in the area, saw the accused and caught them after a brief chase,” Kumar said.
The DCP said, during questioning the two men disclosed addresses of their hideouts and raids were conducted across Delhi, Ghaziabad, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. “This led to recovery of four pistols and jewellery worth ₹3 lakh. One Vipin Jain, the receiver of stolen jewellery was also arrested from Banswala in Rajasthan on the duo’s instance,” Kumar said.
