19-yr-old Gzb man threatens PM Modi on Facebook, held
GHAZIABAD: A fight with cousins while playing ‘ gilli danda’, around a year ago, made a 19-year-old man hatch a revenge plan that landed him in the net of Ghaziabad police’s cyber cell on Monday.
After hacking the Facebook account of a farmer from Maharashtra, the man posted a threatening message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Facebook wall of Loni MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar.
The accused was identified as Salman, a resident of Rameshwar Park in Loni. He hails from Bijnor. Following a complaint by a supporter of Gurjar, an FIR was lodged on June 16 at Loni police station under IPC sections of 124a (exciting disaffection towards the government), 506 (criminal intimidation) and also under the provisions of the IT Act.
“The case was given to the cyber cell and they traced the ID, which was in the name of a farmer in Solapur, Maharashtra. The accused had hacked the ID and changed the name to Nadeem Khan, his cousin’s name, and also posted Nadeem’s photograph on the profile. Later, he posted a threatening message to the PM on the Facebook wall of the Loni MLA,” Vaibhav Krishna, senior superintendent of police, said.
The cyber cell also traced the mobile phone through which the accused allegedly posted the message. “Around a year ago, my cousins Nadeem and Nanu Idrisi, beat me up while we were playing gilli danda. They also beat up my brother and snatched our motocycles. I told them that I will avenge this and hatched the plan to implicate them,” Salman said.
“I was searching for IDS that have mobile numbers as the name and I got one. I put the mobile number as the password and it opened up. Then, I changed the name and posted Nadeem’s photo. Then, I wrote the threatening message. It was to implicate them in the case and avenge the ill-treatment I suffered at their hands,” he said.
Salman has studied up to class 10 and had worked at a factory in Delhi that manufactures power banks for mobile phones.
