ANNUAL DAY
Shaheed Bishan Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School, Mansarover Garden, celebrated its ninth Annual Day at the Air Force auditorium with zest. Shiv Charan Goel, MLA Kirti Nagar, was the chief guest.
The annual day was woven around the theme Gyanodaya, Educating to Raise Voice against Social Evils. The programme included felicitation of toppers of the year, a dance drama by primary and senior segment, yoga, mime show, bhangra, gidda, Youth of Today poem, Gatka, and a talk on the contribution of Satguru Ram Singh. It faceted talent.
The Rolling Trophy was clinched by Springdales School, Pusa Road. All the participants received a participation certificate in appreciation of their dedicated presentation and performance. was a successful programme.
The students and teachers had put in extensive preparations for the annual day celebrations. Students practised over days to make their performances perfect. The teachers guided the students and helped them shine in the activities they took part in. Parents and guests were impressed by the performances of students.
The annual day events consisted of knowledge-enhancing and interesting activities. The event was one of the most important items on the school calendar and was impressive.
The event helped develop an interest in reading and writing among students. It inspired them to read books, stories and articles for pleasure in their leisure time. Such activities would increase their knowledge in a pleasant way. It was a proud moment for members of the new students council when they were conferred badges at DAV Public School, Sreshtha Vihar.
In her address, principal Prem Lata Garg talked about different values especially discipline. Discipline, and water and energy conservation are the need of the hour, she said. She urged members of the student council to guide other students to switch off fans and lights when not in use. This should become a habit and needs everyone’s cooperation.
The members of Techno Club also got their badges during the ceremony. This club is the IT hub of the school. It is a place to learn, improve and implement IT skills and knowledge. It is an active club where students bring out the IT magazine Techno Sreshtha and plan Techesta.
