FARIDABAD: A 20-year-old, who was allegedly gang-raped by four men earlier this week, has identified all four of her alleged rapists during a test identification parade inside Faridabad jail on Friday evening.

The woman, who works at a factory, was out with her male friend near the Industrial Model Township of Ballabgarh in Faridabad district around 8.30 pm on Tuesday when the four men stopped them. The woman in her statement told police while two men held her male friend hostage, the other two took her to some nearby bushes where they raped her.

Neemka jail officials in Faridabad, where the four accused men are lodged, said that the process for test identification parade began around 5 pm and lasted for over an hour.

“The test identification parade was conducted in the presence of three judges. The woman and her male friend, who is the key witness in the case, identified all the four men,” police spokesman Sube Singh said.

Faridabad’s commissioner of police, Amitabh Singh Dhillon said that on Saturday, police will approach the court and seek remand of the four men for their interrogation. The four are yet to be interrogated. Police had arrested them on Thursday morning after receiving a tip-off. Out of the four, police said, three have criminal records and have previously been arrested in theft cases.

“Based on statement of the witness, the medical report, technical and other evidences, we will ensure that these men get the harshest punishment,” Dhillon said.
