Ready to ally with Cong if it cuts ties with DMK: Kamal
CHENNAI: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan said his party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) is ready to join hands with the Congress if they cut their alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

We haven’t changed our stand on alliance with the Congress,” said TKS Elangovan, Rajya Sabha MP and DMK’S principal spokesperson.
Thirunavukkarasar, president, Tamil Nadu Pradesh Congress Committee said they were not parting ways with DMK. “As a PCC president, I am happy with Kamal Haasan’s willingness to join hands with Congress. However, I want to clarify that the Dmk-congress alliance is strong and it will continue.” he noted.
Aazhi Senthilnathan, a political analyst, said Kamal’s political moves were not serious. “Though he launched his party eight months ago, he has not been practicing serious politics. Both Kamal and Rajini are behaving like part-time politicians. It’s obvious that his party connect at grassroots level is not strong...”
