CBI TAKES OVER PROBE IN TIHAR SCUFFLE

NEW DELHI: The CBI has taken over probe into a scuffle between the security guards and the inmates inside the high security ward of the Tihar jail in November 2017. “The agency has registered two FIRS in this regard following a direction from the Delhi high court,” said a CBI official. HT has seen the FIRS. The incident took place on November 21 last year in the ward number six, during a surprise ward search by a 52member team of the Tamil Nadu Special police (TSP). It is alleged that a TSP sub-inspector was beaten up by the inmates during scuffle and 18 inmates also suffered injuries.
