Nadda chairs review meeting as Zika cases rise to 80

NEW DELHI: Union health minister, JP Nadda, chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to take stock of the spread of Zika virus disease that has infected 80 people in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. “The meeting was to review the activities for prevention and control of zika virus disease and seasonal influenza,” said a health ministry statement released on Tuesday. The Central government experts have advised the state to increase surveillan­ce to identify cases early, and strength the overall vector control mechanism.
