In last 17 days, the SDMC has collected an amount of R 1.12 lakh as fine from these violators. The three civic agencies -- North, South and East corporations -have also deployed 205 water tankers for sprinkling water at open areas.

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation is distributing pamphlets in houses for creating awareness. It has issued 268 challans for dust pollution at construction sites and two challans for garbage burning from October 1-17. The civic agency has collected an amount of R 2.65 lakh from these challans.

“We are equally stressing upon educating people for taking all precautionary measures. Our 68 water tankers are working round the clock to sprinkle at open areas and throwing water on trees to bring down pollution level in areas especially near the border points such as Apsara border and Anand Vihar border,” said a senior EDMC official.
