GHAZIABAD: In April this year, the female caretaker of a 60-yearold visually-challenged music teacher had allegedly fled with all the man’s household items and music instruments after getting them booked for transportation.

Six months later and after numerous attempts and applications, the victim, Sarvesh Kumar Sharma, on October 24 finally managed to get a case lodged with the Ghaziabad police.

According to Pawan Kumar Sharma, one of the students of Sarvesh, the FIR names 30-yearold caretaker Sunaina and her alleged accomplices, transporters Rajiv, Nitin and Parminder as suspects in the case.

Pawan said that his teacher was earlier the head of the music department of a school in Ghaziabad and was at present taking music classes to earn a livelihood.

“The caretaker had been with him for nearly 11 months and had pleaded that she be allowed to stay at Sarvesh’s house with her two minor children after her husband died. She is from Ghookhna locality. She had requested Savesh that she be provided shelter at his house, in exchange of which she would take care of his household chores for free. However, Sarvesh paid her ₹6,500 per month,” Pawan said.

He added that Sunaina had helped the teacher change two rented houses earlier and had introduced Nitin as her husband and Sarvesh as her father when she helped him move to a third house in Mahendra Enclave near Shastri Nagar earlier this year.

“It was from this house that Nitin and she fled with all the belongings of Sarvesh after getting it loaded at the back of a mini-truck. We have the CCTV footage showing the accused loading the items in a minitruck,” Pawan added.

The theft cost the victim everything he had. The FIR mentions that Sarvesh lost ₹3.93 lakh, besides his household goods and music instruments.

“We approached the local police post, police station and also the office of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) at least three times and submitted our complaints. We have stamped copies of the complaints, but our FIR was not registered. After approaching the new SHO of Kavi Nagar, we finally got lodged the FIR on October 24,” Pawan added.
