GURU GOVIND FOUNDATION’S SPORTS GROUND

The most shining feather in the cap of students of Adarsh World School, Dwarka, was their victory in the national tug of war held at Guru Govind Foundation Sports Ground in Nashik, Maharashtr­a.

The achievers were Abhay Lamba and Vansh Kumar, who bagged gold; Anshuman Tiwari and Bhavnish Sharma snatched silver; as well as Saurav Khadia and Karanjeet Kharab grabbed bronze medals to make the school proud. In 30th Delhi State Tug of War held at Siddhartha Internatio­nal School, Shahadara, the teams of Under 13 boys and Under 17 Girls secured 3rd positions. In the Tug of War Zonal Competitio­n held at St Gregorious School, the students of Adarsh World School held up their flag high. The teams of Sub Junior Girls, Senior Girls and Senior Boys achieved first positions and the Junior Girls bagged the third position. The Delhi Olympic organised several events in which Adarshians left no stone unturned to show their calibre. The sibling duo of Anushka Shankar of Class 9 and Priyam Shankar of Class 4 grabbed silver and bronze medals, respective­ly, in rope skipping held at the Indira Gandhi Physical College, Vikaspuri. Lakshay Tanwar of Class 7 grabbed the bronze medal in Taekwondo. In the Dragon Boat Race held at Dada Mandu Talaab, Karala – Delhi, the mix team of boys and girls won bronze and a all girls’ team bagged silver medal. Meghna Shankar of Class 10 won a silver medal and Shilpi Anand of Class 9 won a bronze medal in Taekwondo CBSE Zonal held at Kamal Model School, Mohan Garden.
