SPORTS DAY
Venkateshwar International School, Sec-10, Dwarka, organised a magnificent Sports Day.
The chief guest, Meenakshi Pahuja, an international swimmer, declared the meet open. Founder principal and director Mrinalini Kaura welcomed the chief guest and addressed the gathering. Several sports activities and races were conducted with camaraderie. More than 600 students participated in the events. The pleasant weather and the joie-de-vivre of the students served as catalysts for the sports day. At the beginning a march past was held. After that peppy dance drills like hoopla, fiesta of colours, flames and zumba were organised. Class 3 students stole everyone’s heart with a yoga performance. The chief guest gave a message to the students and parents to pursue their dreams with conviction till they succeed. Headmistress, primary wing, Anuradha Kumar, proposed the vote of thanks. School, Faridabad, made a presentation titled ‘Tribute to Mom.’ The star guests of the event were the mothers of students. The event was presided over by principal Richa Puri, vice-principal Gurjeet Sandhu and headmistress Reena Bhatacharjee. The event began with a Shiv Stuti. The rap-cumpoem dedicated to moms captivated everyone’s heart. Several skits showcased the importance of mothers. The comic skit of the ‘genies’ granting different types of mothers to a teenager left everyone in splits. The principal thanked mothers for their time and efforts in making the event successful. She also shared childhood memories with her beloved mother. She also urged students to love and cherish the most precious thing given to them by God: mothers.
