NEW DELHI: It is going to be an action-packed Sunday for both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in the National Capital.

The BJP will hold a mega rally to woo the city’s youth at the historical Ramlila Maidan on Sunday and the Congress launching its door-to-door campaign before the Lok Sabha polls.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said that during Sunday’s rally, the party will make people aware about the positive results of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ motto. “The PM has initiated several schemes for the youth, such as ‘mudra loan scheme’, ‘Stand-up India’, ‘Skill India’ and ‘Kaushal Vikas Yojana’. ... The purpose of such schemes is to make the youths job creators instead of job seekers,” he said.

Tiwari added that on March 2, the party will organise a mega motor bike rally in all the 70 assembly constituencies of the National Capital.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sheila Dikshit, on the other hand, said that her party has directed all its district and block presidents to start door-to-door visits and interact with the people to make them aware of the Congress’ achievements in Delhi in its 15-year rule and t he failures of t he BJP and Aam Aadmi Party governments.

“The truth is that Kejriwal is taking credit for the develop- ment works carried out by the Congress government during its 15-year rule. The AAP government is only trying to mislead people through false propaganda and by creating confusion,” Dikshit said.

The AAP said it sees no competition in Congress as it was the same party which it defeated in the 2015 assembly elections. “Our door-to-door campaigns are going on. We had brought the party [the Congress] down to 0 in the last Assembly elections. So let’s not about talk about Congress,” Gopal Rai had said in a press conference held on Friday.
