Man bombarded with calls as actor Leone ‘shares’ his number in film

NEW DELHI: Puneet Aggarwal’s mobile phone number has become a bane since Bollywood film “Arjun Patiala” hit the screens on Friday. Hundreds of people have been calling and texting the 26-year-old to speak to Bollywood actor Sunny Leone.

What’s the connection? In the film, Leone is seen giving her “phone number” to a policeman played by actor Diljit Dosanjh. And as it turned out, that exact number is what Aggarwal, who lives in north Delhi’s Pitampura, has been using for 12 years.

After constantly receiving calls and texts — he claims he has received over 500 unwanted phone calls — Aggarwal approached the Maurya Enclave police station to file a complaint on Sunday, though nothing has come of it yet. “There is no criminal offence as such... The complainant will have to seek a civil remedy,” Vijayanta Arya, DCP (north-west), said. On Tuesday, Aggarwal said he would approach the court.
