RAJIV KUMAR APPOINTED NEW FINANCE SECY

NEW DELHI: The government has designated financial services secretary Rajiv Kumar as the finance secretary, an official statement issued on Tuesday said. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by PM Modi, has approved designating Kumar as the new finance secretary, it said. Kumar is a 1984 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre. He has been made finance secretary after the post fell vacant due to transfer of Subhash Chandra Garg from the finance ministry to the power ministry on July 24.
