Teen sexually assaults 7-yr-old neighbour, held

NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old boy allegedly sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl living in his neighbourhood in outer Delhi’s Ranhola when her family members were busy with Chhath celebrations on November 1. The police said they have apprehended the boy and that counselling sessions were arranged for the girl whose condition is now stable.

According to the police, the incident happened in the evening when the boy, who lives nearby and was familiar to the girl, came to her house and rushed to the terrace with one of her toys. The girl saw the boy and followed him up to the terrace where he caught her and sexually assaulted her, the police said.

An officer, who did not wish to be named, said that after about half an hour, the girl’s family members traced her to the terrace and found her bleeding from her private parts. “She was taken to a hospital where the doctors ascertained that she had been sexually assaulted and the police was informed,” he said.

DCP (outer) A Koan said a case of rape was filed under POCSO Act and the boy was apprehended.
