NEWDELHI: A 15-year-old boy was among three persons killed when their motorcycle skid and fell near a drain in outer Delhi’s Nihal Vihar in the early hours of Monday, police said.

The bodies of the three men were found lying on a land between a drain and it’s wall at 8am on Monday, said A Koan, deputy commissioner of police (outer district). Their damaged motorcycle was found lying nearby, the officer said.

The DCP identified the dead men as 15-year-old Kapil and his friends, Visaluddin, 20, and Hadji, 22. They lived in Nihal Vihar with their families. While Kapil was looking out for a job, Hadji worked at a garments store and Visaluddin was employed at a factory.

Another investigator said that Kapil had left his home on Sunday night after telling his family that he would have dinner with his friends.

The officer said that the probe so far has revealed that Kapil met his two friends and the trio set out on Visaluddin’s motorcycle. Where all they travelled and where they were destined for remains unclear.

Their bodies were found by passersby at 8 am on Monday after which the police were alerted. “There was a turn in the road at the point where their bodies were found. It appears that the motorcycle rider failed to negotiate the share turn and the twowheeler skid, throwing them all away,” said the officer.

The officer said that it appeared that no one noticed the men because of which they bled to death. The accident is believed to have happened sometime after 12.30am as that was the time when Kapil last spoke to his family over phone.

The police have so far found no eyewitnesses and have relied on the evidences available on the spot to determine what had happened. They are looking for CCTV footage from nearby areas.

“We have registered a case of causing death due to negligence at Nihal Vihar police station,” said the DCP, adding that the probe suggests it was an accident.
