Shah meets CMS, groups to ease concerns on CAB
NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday held discussions with chief ministers, student bodies and civil society groups of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya to discuss the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), an election promise of the BJP that aims to grant Indian citizenship to nonmuslim migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Arunachal CM Pema Khandu and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma attended the meetings on Saturday.
