-

Amethi:convicts in former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, Nalini Sriharan, and her husband Murugan aka Sriharan, have sought euthanasia.

Nalini’s advocate Pugazhendhi Pandian said on Saturday the convict had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madras high court chief justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, and Tamil Nadu home secretary office. “When I met Nalini on Saturday at Vellore Women’s Special Prison, she said the prison officials were ill-treating her. She has been observing a hunger strike against the prison officials since last week, and so is her husband who is isolated in a cell in the Vellore Central Prison,” Pugazhendhi said.

Attempts to reach prison department officials failed.
