UNIDENTIFI­ED BODY FOUND IN DUMP YARD

DHANBAD: An unidentifi­ed body of a man has been found in a medical waste dump yard in Jharkhand. Hospital authoritie­s have termed the incident as negligence and ordered a probe. Authoritie­s at government­owned Patliputra Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad said the patient was admitted in the morning of Wednesday and his body was found on Friday. According to hospital authoritie­s, the deceased patient was suffering from major wounds in his left leg, which was infested with maggots, and was unable to walk. They expressed surprise as to how the patient reached the dump yard. The matter came into the notice of health secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni after a local resident Ankit Rajgarhia sent him the photograph of the body lying in a heap of wastes through Whatsapp. Kulkarni forwarded it to the hospital authoritie­s raising alarm and seeking action.
