Steel conference at IIT Hyderabad

nIndian Institute of Technology Hyderabad will be hosting a three-day ‘Indian Structural Steel Conference (ISSC)’ 2020 from 25 to 27 March.

The ISSC 2020 is a unique internatio­nal conference covering various fields of steel structures, PEB Buildings, sustainabl­e materials, high strength steel, coldformed steel structures, natural composites, renewable materials, structural assessment, Composite constructi­on and rehabilita­tion of structures.

Interested participan­ts can register for this conference at www.issc2020.com. The last date for the registrati­on is 7 March.

Highlighti­ng the importance of this conference, Dr. Mahendraku­mar Madhavan, Organizing Secretary of ISSC 2020 and Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineerin­g, IIT Hyderabad, said, “This conference is focused on creating a forum where researcher­s and industrial experts having explicit background­s but encounteri­ng similar challenges on infrastruc­tural developmen­t, joining together, to discuss and disseminat­e the most recent advances in the analysis, behavior, design, and constructi­on of structural steel.”

This conference will be the interest to structural steel designers and manufactur­ers, trade associatio­ns, design engineers, steel fabricator­s, architects, owners or developers of steel and aluminum structures, researcher­s, academics and postgradua­te students.

IIT Hyderabad has invited experts from all over the world, including Prof. Ben Young from HK Polyu, Prof. Leroy Gardner from Imperial College London, Prof. James S Davidson from Auburn University USA, Prof. V Kalyanaram­an,

Emeritus IIT Madras, Prof. Kim Rasmussen from University of Sydney Australia, Prof Ron Ziemian from Bucknell University USA, Prof. Brian Uy from University of Sydney Australia, Prof. Tan Kang Hai from NTU Singapore, Prof. N E Shanmugam formerly with NUS Singapore, and several leading industrial experts from PEBS Pennar, Kirby, Mutyam Steel and Tata Steel among others.
