Cong launches nationwide stir against BJP
nNEW DELHI: The Congress on Sunday launched a nationwide campaign against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged attempts to topple the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan and for its bid to “repeatedly violate constitutional and democratic traditions” in Opposition-ruled states.

Raj Bhawans across the country, except in Jaipur, to lodge their protest against the BJP’S “attempt to destabilise the Rajasthan government” amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Leading the party’s ‘Speakupfordemocracy’ online campaign, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “India’s democracy will function in accordance with the Constitution and echo the voice of the people. The people of the country will protect democracy and the Constitution by rejecting the BJP’S conspiracy of deceit and deception.”
The Congress government in Rajasthan is facing a threat after Gehlot’s former deputy Sachin Pilot rebelled against the party. Eighteen other legislators are backing Pilot. The party has accused Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra of delaying the session of the state assembly.
Congress’ chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is camping in Jaipur as a party observer, tweeted, “The BJP’S conspiracy to kill democracy in broad daylight in Madhya Pradesh and now in Rajasthan has been exposed. Is democracy a slave of the Delhi Durbar?..doesn’t the rule of vote matter? If not, then raise your voice.”
Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia hit back at the Congress. “A cat going on a pilgrimage after eating 900 mice. The Congress is responsible for the political crisis in Rajasthan. It violated democratic values and insulted Constitution for years.”
